plain flour

mustard powder

butter chopped
1 cup (120g)
grated cheddar cheese
1 cup (250ml)
NESTLÉ CARNATION Light & Creamy Evaporated Milk
1/4 cup (50g)
vegemite or marmite


  1. preheat oven to 200°c/180°c fan forced. line 2 baking trays with baking paper.

  2. sift flour and mustard powder into a large bowl. rub in butter until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs; stir in cheese.

  3. add NESTLÉ CARNATION light & creamy evaporated milk, mix to form a soft dough. roll out onto a lightly floured surface to a rectangle approximately 25cm x 45cm; spread with vegemite.

  4. fold dough in half; roll out to form a rectangle 30cm x 20cm. cut dough into half, then cut into 40 x 1 1/2cm strips.

  5. twist strips, place on prepared trays and bake 10-12 minutes or until golden; cool on a wire rack.
